How Economics Improved the World in 2016
Join us for the Economic Society’s final event for the year. The function will feature an update from Professor Flavio Menezes on the activities for the Society for the year. This will be followed by a light-hearted look at how economics improved the world in 2016 with commentary from Professor Flavio Menezes and Professor Lionel Page of QUT and end-of-year drinks and savouries.
Professor Flavio Menezes, President of the Economic Society of Australian (Qld) is a Professor of Economics at UQ, Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia, Senior Fellow at the Australian Institute of Business and Economics, member of the standing committee of the Econometric Society (Australasia) and Deputy Chair of the Qld Competition Authority.
Lionel Page
Professor Lionel Page is head of the Behavioural Economics Group at QUT and received the Young Economist Award from the Economic Society which recognises the Australian economist under the age of forty who is deemed to have made a significant contribution to economic thought and knowledge.
