The WEN Queensland and ANZ would like to invite you to their breakfast event where Richard Yetsenga, Chief Economist of ANZ, and Joanne Masters, Senior Economist at ANZ, will discuss the state of the global economy and the challenges faced by Australia.
About the speakers:
Richard Yetsenga is Chief Economist and Head of Research at ANZ. In this role, he leads the Bank's economic and markets research efforts, with a focus on Australia, New Zealand and Asia. With more than 20 years of experience in Asian financial services, Richard joined ANZ in 2011 from HSBC in Hong Kong, where he was Managing Director and Global Head of Emerging Market FX Strategy. Prior to his seven years at HSBC, Richard held economics and markets strategy roles with Deutsche Bank and the Australian Government. Richard publishes research on issues of broad relevance, including the resilience of a liberal global trading regime, the Aldi-isation of retail, India’s credible reform, what’s happening in the boardrooms of China and resisting the siren call of Australian infrastructure.
Joanne Masters joined ANZ as a Senior Economist in the Australian Economics Team in 2015. She is responsible for analysing and forecasting trends in the Australian economy, as well as providing thematic research on key issues. In particular, Jo focuses on inflation, wages, consumption and housing. Jo publishes regular reports and presents to internal and external clients, as well as provides media coverage. Prior to joining ANZ, Jo worked at Macquarie Bank for over ten years, both as a Senior Economist and as the Currency Strategist. Jo holds a Master of Economics from Sydney University and a Bachelor of Commerce from Auckland University.
A panel discussion featuring Professor Fabrizio Carmignani (Griffith University) and Natasha Doherty (Deloitte) will follow at the end of the presentation and questions from the audience will be addressed. The event will be moderated by Tina Rampino (WEN Qld Chair).
ANZ has kindly offered to sponsor this event and breakfast will be served at the tables. There are only limited places available and for this reason registration will be necessary. We are looking forward to welcoming you all at our first WEN Qld breakfast event.
