Let's Talk Rubbish - a discussion about the things which some of us may consider of no value but which can find a new life given the right incentives.

Date

From: Wednesday December 18, 2019, 5:30 pm

To: Wednesday December 18, 2019, 7:00 pm

Come along to our WEN end of year event and hear two fantastic speakers discuss their approach to dealing with the issue of unwanted goods and waste.

Yasmin Grigaliunas, CEO and Co-founder of the World’s Biggest Garage Sale, who is making her business bringing new life to what could otherwise end up in landfill. She has packed more into her life than many of us do in a lifetime but currently she is an impact entrepreneur in an area she is passionate about – the circular economy.

Tony Roberts, Deputy Director-General, Environmental Policy and Programs, Department of Environment and Science, who has spearheaded the policy reforms around waste. In particular, he led the development of the container deposit framework and legislation as part of the Queensland Waste Management and Resource Recovery Strategy, and, more recently, the Plastic Pollution Reduction Plan.

And of course, there will be opportunity to network and enjoy some Christmas fare.
