At a time when working overseas seems an impossible dream, tune in to hear the experiences of three Queensland economists who followed their dream to work overseas. They will share with you some of their experiences, work and personal, including their last year in lockdowns across the world. 

Corrie Feldman, from the Women in Economics Network in Queensland will facilitate a discussion between Vanessa Rayner, Anna Barker and Anna Park.

Our speakers!

Vanessa Rayner is Head of Financial Markets at the Reserve bank of New Zealand. Since joining the bank in 2016, Vanessa has been an Adviser in the Financial Stability Group and most recently of the Industry Insights and Thematics team. Before this, Vanessa spent more than 10 years at the Reserve Bank of Australia, including management roles in Economics, Financial Markets and Financial Stability Groups.


Anna Barker has over fifteen years’ experience in the Australian and UK public sector and international organisations working on arrange of policy issues including regulation, competition, consumer protection, privacy and the digital economy. Most recently, Anna worked with the OECD in Paris, France as a Competition Expert, before returning back to Australia working for the ACCC as Principal Economist.


Anna Park has worked as an economist and manager at the Reserve Bank of Australia, predominantly in the Economic Group and also in the Financial Stability, International and Risk Management departments. She has recently returned from a 3 year secondment to the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC, where she was an advisor to the Executive Director for Australia on the IMF Board.


Facilitator, Corrie Feldman has experience in economics and public policy working with government and industry stakeholders, including rural debt trends in Queensland, drought and rural economies.  As the Rural and Industry Economist for the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority, Corrie communicates to varied audiences on the influences in agriculture and other industries.
