Brisbane City Council’s Economic Development team works to enhance Brisbane’s capacity for long-term economic growth.  The team coordinates and implements projects to attract industry, investment, jobs and visitors.

As the Project Officer for Economic Policy Analysis you will contribute to economic development strategies and project initiatives through innovative investigation, research and statistical analysis of trends, issues, and economic data, particularly ABS and Census data to identify implications for Council in shaping Brisbane.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • contributing to the economic development program through research, analysis and forecasting trend information
  • providing input in addressing economic development challenges
  • assisting in the preparation of advice, discussion papers and other written research
  • assisting in the development of comprehensive analysis outputs utilising Excel and other statistical software.

 

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • economic analysis experience across a large organisation
  • proven technical skills in the analysis of city based economic performance
  • experience in sourcing, researching and analysing diverse sets of data
  • strong communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
